Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to common concerns.

What training methods do you use?

I use evidence-based, welfare-focused training methods centred on positive reinforcement, clear communication, and thoughtful management. This means we focus on rewarding the behaviours we want to see more of, rather than using fear, intimidation, or pain-based tools. I’ll guide you on any equipment you might need, such as a comfortable harness and lead, and we’ll use high-value rewards to make learning clear, effective, and enjoyable, always keeping your dog’s comfort and well being at the heart of the process

Why not use corrections if they stop behaviour quickly?

Corrections can suppress behaviour in the moment, but they don’t always change the underlying emotion. When stress remains, behaviour often resurfaces later or appears in new forms. Addressing emotional drivers creates more stable, long-term results.

Do you work with reactive or anxious dogs?

Yes. Many clients seek help for dogs who struggle around triggers, environments, or separation.

Do you offer online training?

Yes, 1:1 sessions can be delivered online and this is the only method to train for separation anxiety.

How do I book?

You can book most of our services via the website (preferred), some services require a little more information before being booked, so you can contact us via the contact form or any of the methods at the bottom of this page.

What to Expect From Training

You can expect training to be a supportive, collaborative process focused on building understanding, confidence, and a strong relationship between you and your dog. We’ll work at your dog’s pace using kind, reward-based methods, with practical steps you can apply in everyday life. Progress isn’t always linear, and every dog is different, so it’s not possible to say exactly how many sessions you’ll need, we’ll adapt as we go. With consistency and small, regular practice, you’ll start to see meaningful changes over time

Scheduling and family involvement

I aim to make the process as smooth and flexible as possible. Sessions are designed to fit around your routine, and I’ll always communicate clearly about bookings and what to expect. Sessions are non-refundable, but you’re very welcome to reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice. Wherever possible, I encourage all family members to be involved so everyone feels confident and consistent, and ongoing support is available between sessions so you’re never left feeling unsure or stuck.
